Dalian Institute of Chemical Technology’s PO new process passed the evaluation of scientific and technological achievements
Latest News: Recently, a team led by Huang Jiahui, a researcher from the Gold Catalyst Design and Selective Oxidation Research Group (DNL0809 Group) of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, and Liu Yingchun, a senior engineer from the Engineering Research Group (DNL1207 Group) of the Low Carbon Catalysis and Engineering Research Center The team, jointly developed with Tianjin Dagu Chemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Dagu Chemical”), “Liquid-Solid Circulating Fluidized Bed Hydrogen Peroxide Direct Oxidation of Propylene Oxide New Process (FHPPO)” and the results evaluation organized by the Chemical Industry Federation. Li Xianfeng, deputy director of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, and relevant personnel from scientific research and functional departments participated in the evaluation meeting.
The evaluation meeting was presided over by Wang Xiujiang, deputy director of the Science and Technology and Equipment Department of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, and Academician Peng Xiaojun of Dalian University of Technology served as the director of the evaluation committee. At the evaluation meeting, Wang Lei of Dagu Chemical made a report on the new process of FHPPO and a pilot test report, and reported in detail the construction and operation of the 100-ton pilot plant. Our Longhuayun made a new FHPPO process research report and novelty search report, and introduced the development process of catalysts and liquid-solid circulating fluidized bed reactors in detail. The evaluation committee carefully reviewed the assessment report, novelty search report and related evaluation materials, and conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions with the R&D team on scientific and technological issues and industrialization development prospects. In the end, the evaluation committee unanimously agreed that: the technology is advanced in technology, strong in innovation, and has good application prospects, reaching the international leading level; it agreed to pass the evaluation; it is recommended to speed up the construction of demonstration devices.
FHPPO adopts the liquid-solid circulating fluidized bed reaction-regeneration system to replace the traditional tubular fixed-bed reactor, which strengthens the heat transfer and mass transfer rate of the liquid-phase epoxidation reaction of propylene, and improves the production efficiency of propylene oxide. The catalyst is regenerated continuously and can be replaced online, which realizes a high coupling between epoxidation reaction and catalyst regeneration. The project was launched in 2019, and the 100-ton pilot plant will be completed and put into operation in 2021. From January 8th to 10th, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation organized an expert group to conduct a continuous 72-hour assessment and calibration of the pilot plant. The device achieved 106% load operation, the conversion rate of hydrogen peroxide was 99.7%, and the The selectivity is 98.2%, the effective utilization rate of hydrogen peroxide is 99.9%, and the purity of propylene oxide product is 99.95%.
FHPPO applies the liquid-solid circulating fluidized bed reactor to the production of propylene oxide, opening up a new field of industrial application of the liquid-solid circulating fluidized bed reactor. The process has the characteristics of green and low carbon, high safety and good economy, and the key technical indicators are better than the existing process. The high-performance titanium-silicon molecular sieve catalyst developed by the DNL0809 group has been authorized by a number of patents and has completely independent intellectual property rights. The FHPPO process and equipment can be 100% domestically produced. The development of FHPPO will help improve the level of my country’s propylene oxide industry and promote the continuous progress of domestic propylene oxide technology.
