Is it necessary to use chromic anhydride for plastic electroplating roughening?

Chromic anhydride is a strong oxidant, and chromium is often used when chemically roughening plastics

Acid, especially ABS plastics, use chromic acid for roughening effect is better, but not all plastic plating roughening use chromic acid, even ABS does not necessarily use chromic acid. For example, nylon plastics cannot be roughened with chromic acid, while ABS can also be roughened with a solvent method. Other plastics are often roughened with a solvent method. Commonly used solvents include acetone and xylene. There are also some plastics that need to be coarsened by special methods, but they must have the characteristics of industrial production value and low cost to be a suitable coarsening process. Therefore, in most cases, chromic acid is still used as the main raw material for coarsening. In order to remove the pollution caused by chromic acid, it is necessary to explore the method of coarsening ABS plastic without chromic acid.
