(1) Properties:
It’s a kind of colorless or yellowish transparent liquid with strong odor of aldehyde, it is soluble in alcohol, ether and benzene etc, but only slightly soluble in water. Its vaporization steam has effect of mild anesthetization. Its density (@ 20℃): 1.2475g/cm³; Freezing point: 46℃; Boiling point: 220.9℃.
(2) Usages:
It is a kind of organic synthetic raw material, it can be used as intermediates in making of new-style pesticides, pharmacy and dyestuff etc. After being condensed, and through cyclization reaction with propanoics, it can be applied to make Chlormezanone; In pesticide field, it can be synthesized to make herbicide, and plant growing adjusting agent of paclobutrazol and uniconazole etc; In dyestuff, it can be synthesized to make acidic indigo blue 7BF and acidic gay indigo blue 6B etc.

(4) Storage & Package:
It needs to be stored in PE container, or packed in 200L, 100L, 50L or 25L steel/plastic compound drum or PE puffed drum, at cool, ventilated and dry places.

It is toxic, and detrimental to respiratory tract and irritative to eyes, noses and skin. Not to handle it by naked hand, in non-airtight places, the operators ought to wear protective articles.
